Placement in specific Satellite Programs is determined through the IEPT process
LIVONIA PUBLIC SCHOOLS SATELLITE
This in-school program addresses the four life roles; family, community, work and recreation. This class offers on-going support to students with disabilities. The class is highly structured and utilizes visual strategies, such as schedule boards and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). The focus is to create an environment where students can comfortably function with minimal support. The class is also a resource that can assist students who participate in other WWSC classes.
WAYNE/WESTLAND COMMUNITY SCHOOLS SATELLITE
The Wayne/Westland John Glenn High School Satellite program is for students with physical impairments and/or other health impairments and is designed to improve students’ practical and functional life applications, problem-solving techniques, and instruction as it relates to personal issues and school and community participation. Pre-vocational and Universal Life Skills are addressed.
